Default New owner 2002 e46 M3 coupe manual

Bought it from a private seller. I have e46 325ci first car
My first M car. 2002 e46 m3 couoe manual gray black 126k miles
W dinan chip and coil overs w 19' csl wheels for $10k.
Had it inspected now knowing all these problems i still went ahead n bought it.
Inspection result. (Post it when i get the picture)
Oil pan gasket leaking ($2500)
Sunroof motor ($520)
Battery($250) they said its putting out 800 (v)? Should
900
Driver seat motor (forward, back not working but if u lift it high you can then forward or back lol)
And some other small.
Mechanic said theres a weird sound on the transmission/clutch. But the clutch is check so maybe thats good condition (according to seller the previous owner before he bought it change the clutch).

My experience driving it.
Gas pedal is little bit hard.
Clutch also a bit hard (maybe preference)
The coilovers are stiff. Not really comfortable.
And the MPG is 13.7? I drove two before and tjey jave like 20 mpg. Is there something wrong w my fuel?
Thats it so far.

Wanting to do:
Change the sparkplug and coils, filters
Get new battery (is this immediate need to fix?)

Heres the fun part. I got the car for $10k but he also included a 4 wheel w 4 tire brand new i think. Ill have pictures later today.
And 1 extra brand new 19' oem csl
He even also included brand new megan catback exhaust theres plastic cover protector and everything.
Turn signals.
3 quarts of bmw 10w-60.
So the wheels, tires and exhaust i could even resell that and make money right???

Exterior. Space gray? Is that the name idk. But looks perfect 8/10 no visible marks just swirls from maybe cleaning. Well i saw it night time but when i pull over my garage looks really good paint condition.
Inside, his radio has bluetooth but the knobs of the radio are really worn. Front sits leather 6 or 7/10. Back sit leathrr 8/10.
Tires it equipped w 19' csl wheels.

What do you guys think. My lost or sorta win???
Ill have photos later today or tomorrow.
Opinion please and maybe DIY for the problems i have.

Thank you
Edit: according to him the previous owner before him is a mechanic so he did the vanos and solenoid. Subframe wasnt reinforced but no signs (i do know that i will have to do this probably top 3 list)
Im also unsure about the rod bearings and also its 2002.
Valve adjustment.
Ita really overwhelming owning a prestige car but i love it.

And i know some of you might say its a sin to just lock her up in thegarage but for years to come it will be like that. It will be weekend drive mostly because i just dont want to put more miles and she needs maintenance badly. Shes in her 126k miles now.

Congrats on the project. Local BMW dealership can tell you when the rod bearing SA was taken (date, mileage and location).

I suspect there's going to be some pain in the future.

Get the subframe inspected asap-- which has no occurred if the subframe hasn't been lowered. Reenforce it if it's fine, fix and reenforce it if it isn't.

Then lock down the vanos failure modes... also asap.

Then replace cooling system.

After you have the above done, you'll have addressed all the things that can ruin the car, and can go after fixing whatevers up with the engine (mpg) and make it drive properly again (suspension/bushings).

$10k M3s have the habit of being very expensive cars.

So i need to focus on reincorcing and vanos. The oil pan gasket is also really expensive, i need to check my oil level everytime. Ill be checking the bottom of the car later.
Is theres something i could do about the gas pedal and clutch. I drove 2 m3s day before i purchase the car and it just feels diff.

I'd hold off on the oil pan gasket until you get oil analysis back, to find out if you also need rod bearings-- oil pan has to drop for that. The car will warn you if oil is low on the cluster (yellow oil can icon), so you don't need to check every drive, in the interim.

Clutch pedal gets stiffer with age. Gas pedal is electronic and only gets stiffer if stuff gets into it.

Preventive measure first. Subframe, vanos and cooling.
I just realize my neighbor is also m3 fanatic. He haz 08 e92 m3 w 40k miles LOL. He has a certified mechanic that does his m3. He said his cheap. So YAy. I think he played a big part convincing me to go m3. LoL

So it would be wise to put off the oil change and get the oil analysis asap?

Out of curiosity, who quoted you 2500 for the oil pan gasket? That seems very high, considering there are several shops quoting half that for a rod-bearing replacement (Which you might as well do if you're going that far).

What Obioban said, get the VANOS done and the Subframe as well. Both are not cheap by any means, but pretty much needed.

MPG wise, where/how were you driving the car? In-town, it's not really uncommon to dip that low, especially if you're accelerating a bit harder from stops.

Regarding the clutch, my first suspicion would be that it's some sort of aftermarket situation. Gas Pedal wise, there isn't any sort of mechanical connection to the engine. You could spray some silicone lubricant on the hinges and where the rod pushes against the pot, maybe that'll loosen things up. Or replace the assembly for 150 bucks or so. Still find it strange, though.

Prepare for a big repair bill soon, don't ask me how I know. Spent 3000 in one month overhauling my old M3
