Also, the biggest deterrent for a V10 M car is the dismal gas milage. You are lucky if you get 8MPG, 6 was usual, and 4 if you could not keep your foot out of it.

I just looked up the conversions from mpg to litres per hundred km, how could you get 4 MPG? I could pour an open gas tank from the rear of the car and get better milleage

Hah, if anything it would be E46 M3 with S65 swap. Though, I quite like the engine that came standard

If you were to get a 6MT (or convert an SMG) and do the rod bearings wouldn't you be mostly good to go?

^I like this a lot
I've always thought the M6 looked pretty good too. I drove a 650i once and thought it was just fine as a nice luxury vehicle. Sometimes this section of the forum seems too focused and seems to think everything that isn't track ready is junk or everything that isn't an E46 is garbage. There are plenty of great cars out there, variety can be a good thing

Who are you and what have you done with Ian?

The shame of it all is that the S65 is so amazing and yet the E60/63 are just so hideous... and the newer models, the 6 especially, are freaking gorgeous.

Imagine the new M3/4 with a tuned S65 and the 5/6 with a motor that sounds like that video. Drool-worthy cars right there.

(Note: should be obvious but I hate turbos.)

Not that I wouldn't enjoy driving and listening to that immensely, but I agree with the S65 over 85 sentiment. A V10 in this car is out of character.

I mean... I donít like torque and do like steering feel. Generally itís a much better matched driving experience to me.

... I just think itís unownable.

There's a time and a place for torque...

I think the only real solution here is to go grab an E39 528i touring like your brother, buy and bulletproof an S85, and make sweet ridiculous magic combining the two.

Zero desire, one of the worst looking cars BMW ever built... the M6.

I don't find this ugly, I think it looks kind of cool, the big wide fat front end, the trunk always got me though, and not in a good way.. but it looks more like a gangster's dream car, I'd have to put on another 200 pounds to match the car and not look like a poser.

Here's the thing too. By the time you have a decent m6 that looks right, sounds right and drives right you're in it for 30-40k at least and suddenly a Gran Turismo is looking better and better. Bone stock it's a better car in every way. Putting it like that makes me not even want to consider the M6 anymore. Too bad. The engine is a masterpiece despite the crummy fuel economy and Russian roulette it plays with your wallet.

Damn, he's right. The Gran Turismo is badass too. No 6MT though
