I've been wanting to do the lens swap as well; I can't find a shop in Chicago that can do it.

Well, if these are fake ones then someone did a damn good job on the box, all the markings on the base of the bulb, etc. I've compared mine to pictures I've found online of real ones and they're spot on so I highly doubt their fake.

Also, if they were fake I suspect this guy wouldn't have thousands and thousands of nothing but positive feedback. There would be at least one or two comments of people calling him out for selling fakes.

If you're concerned about it just buy the Amazon ones then. Just an FYI though it's not Amazon.com selling them, it's a 3rd party seller selling them via Amazon.com which is essentially the same thing as buying them off eBay when you think about it.

I purchased the 5500k CBI bulbs, yes.

ZKW-R lenses can be purchased here... (this is where I got mine)

Here's a DIY install guide on how to install the ZKW-R lenses...

It's not that hard to do. You just have to be patient and gentle with the more fragile parts.

Not true actually. The Sylvania branded version is sold directly by Amazon.

Also don't worry about the 5000 vs 5500k ratings. Same bulb, they just changed the labeling, presumably after some post-marketing tests.
