Yeah, it's a trade-off.

We get to track year round but six months out of the year it's 90*F-110*F at the track.

I always trip out when I see tracks like VIR with no run-off and trees everywhere.

Car: E46 M3
Track: MSR Houston
Configuration: CW
Best Lap Time: 2:01.05
Brakes: OEM Brake Calipers and Rotors, Cobalt XR1 Pads, Castrol SRF Fluid
Suspension: Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers - 450fr/800r, OEM Front and no rear sway, Turner Monoball FCABs, Syncrotech RTABs
Tire: Federal RSRR
Other Mods: Megan headers, OEM Sec 1 & 2, custom section 3, Vincebar and Turner Subframe plates, Poly bushings in subframe and differential.

Notes: This was my first time ever on track! I have been talking about it for so long but finally getting out there was awesome! The instructor was great, and I was getting smoother and faster every session. However, my last session was cut short due to the power steering reservoir cap popping off and dumping fluid everywhere

This video isn't of my fastest lap but the ending is fun LOL.

In the future, if you have the choice between straight off in the grass or spinning into the wall, choose the grass

There are actually quite a few tracks (CoTA comes to mind) where there's loads of run-off if you run off straight, but 3 feet and a wall if you end up spinning it. Just like it's important to train your brain not to lift, it's important to look and plan for the best exit strategy.

Not sure yet. Would love to drive the 3.1.

That's kind of surprising that anyone would spin to the inside of that turn like he did. Most people just hit the wall.

Just sliced up a quick vid from the MSR Cresson 3.1 Monday Funday with Edge Addicts in Texas. I ran a new PB at 2:38 even though it was my 2nd time at the 3.1 configuration and the first time I was there in my F80, so I was still learning the line.

It was my first time running the E46 M3 here in Dallas with a different type of heat and humidity than back in California. I was relieved to see that the water and oil temps held steady all day with the help of the BW oil cooler and CSF radiator.

From MSR Houston this past weekend. It was only 97 degrees.

Key point: Know who you're racing against. Video of me chasing Hurley Hatch who runs or local race club. His car control skills are out of this world. Have raced near him many, many times so I have no fear being side by side with him, when he's in a full out drift. And like a good club owner, her pushes you, but doesn't really "have to win the race".
