Default Can You Retrieve Trouble Codes...

...via the on board computer. I went to start my car and it was idling really rough and eventually died. After the car died, a check engine light came on. Now my question is, can you retrieve trouble codes via the on-board computer?

ive never heard of getting all the codes from the onboard

really its worth the investment to get one of these

http://www.peakeresearch.com/code_tool.shtml

it has diagnosed numerous faults for me, and i use it to reset service and oil change lights when i change the oil.

its paid for itself many times already
