90% of people who never get under their car?

Those same people 1) wouldn't notice even if they saw it 2) wouldn't think it made any difference.

Mom brought her Grand Cherokee to Jiffy Lube mid-90's...engine seized on her because they drained the oil, but never put any back in.

Was actually pretty painless getting them to pay the repair bill...they owned up to it immediately

What did the repair entail? Engine rebuild or Engine replacement?

20 years ago they left the oil cap off my dad's car. Oil all over the engine bay and front of the hood. But it didn't overheat. They paid for the cleaning and replaced all the seals. This time they forgot to put the drain plug back in. Engine quickly seized. They had to replace the entire engine.

Absolute morons.

They tried to blame my father saying he should've crawled underneath to check that the drain plug was there.

Jesus that's nearly as bad as the time the triumph dealership almost killed me.

My brother took his Daytona 675 in for a small service (recall to replace the stator & voltage regulator) for some reason the goons took the oil fill cap off. Well they forgot to screw it back on so here I am riding it home on the freeway for him at 80-90mph, pull of the off ramp and happen to notice some steam and the smell of oil. Well the rear tire was completely covered in oil. How I didn't crash on the freeway in traffic with an oil covered rear tire I will never know.

Edit: after pulling over I noticed the oil cap barely screwed in.

Figured they could handle a GM V8 oil change, even if it was on the other end of the car and facing backwards.

Brought my company car to Jiffy Lube because of a national contract with the fleet company. They over-tightened the oil filter, cracking the plastic filter housing (nice work Chrysler). About a week later, this led to a James Bond-esqe smoke show on the highway as the engine puked nearly all the oil out at 80mph.

That was nearly two years ago, and on hot days I can still smell burning oil. I don't think they'll ever get all the oil out from the nooks and crannies of that engine bay. It looked like the Exxon Valdez in there.

Morons.
