also nice to see that tasteful/functional mods are not being penalized in the market. i'm sure a turbo car will be tougher to sell for a premium but i like seeing the market appreciate mods like this car.

Nice, thats about the only American car I have my eyes on and would love to have one. Awesome score for that price, wow!

Doubt it. Look at the production numbers.

Production matters alot in the first 0 to 20 yrs - in years 20 on it becomes much more about number of clean/restored units available.

True. Reminds me of 911s. Porsche literally made a million of them and prices still skyrocketed.

thats right - there is no doubt in my mind our e36 M3s will be back to sticker price up to 1.5x sticker for the true perfect restorations.

as i posted on bimmerforums i just bought a 98 sedan last year with 150k miles, fully documented cared for car - paid about 12k for BAT i think and i have put $30k into in replacing and refurbishing a bunch of stuff. im confident ill get my money back if i ever want to sell.

$19,250 hammer price with buyer’s fee pushing it to $20,200. Not bad!

Much more than I would have expected. So we used to always say these cars had the $10K rule. What's the rule now?

They’re 20 probably needing 5k to get freshened up and 15k to be brought to 8 or 9 tenths.

I replaced all my suspension bushings, dampers, new springs, upgraded the ARBs, installed camber plates, and put tires onto my last E36 for under $6500, but I was being a cheap bastard and a lot of that was trickle stuff, buying new parts when people changed their minds or buying good used parts.

I didn't touch the cooling system as it had been gone through fairly recently. I "cheaped out" on brands once or twice, but only on non-essentials.

To be fair Ricky, you not only replaced and refurbished but upgraded a lot.

It would take $25k+ to separate me from my 73k-mile BG/Modena 3/4/5. That would buy me one good-looking $15k E39 M5 with mechanical needs and one kinda-sorta hoopty E36 M3.
