THIS!! That's why I wanted the lockout but they are not selling it anymore I guess because of this. people always say "you don't need the lock out" well maybe you. But whenever I drive hard downshifting from 3rd to 2nd I tend to go past over 2nd quite a lot.

Black Friday - 15% off deal - code - RTDBF2018 - website

RTD's website describes the following feature for this lockout.

- Innovative Locking Mechanism with adjustable side stops.

When you look at the video it basically looks like this prevents any shifting not only into reverse, but it lines you up for gear 1 and gear 2!!

I'm still trying to contact Maher at RTD to confirm it, but I think this solves the issue for guys like me that did the SMG to Manual conversion without adding detents to the bellhousing, eg drilling the bellhousing for detents.

it's basically a $150 premium over the base non lockout VO that I purchased a few months ago, but I think it's definitely a worthy upgrade if it delivers on the promise.

Hard to believe you can now get 100% of the features of a CAE shifter for roughly 1/2 the cost. Crazy.

Looks solid. I wish for their next gen that they can route the lockout cable internally. That would give it a much cleaner look, IMO.

I'm using the DSSR made by RTD, but there's a few folks out there that use the stock DSSR with no ill effect.

FYI from RTD.

the locking mechanism cannot be added to the non-locking shifter! 80% of the parts are different even the base is different.

If you're looking to purchase our REVO1 Lockout Shifter, please visit our online store:
www.rtd-motorsports.com

We have now a Black Friday Sale 15% OFF (Use Coupon: RTDBF2018) it's valid until the 26th of November.

Please let us know if you need further info,

Best Regards,
Maher

Good to know.

I still don't see much of a benefit in the lockout. The biggest selling point is improving the 3-2 shift, but even when I try to slam it to the left it seems to go into second pretty easily. Maybe my opinion will change after I install the non-lockout version I ordered.

I'm glad that Maher and the folks at RTD have stopped selling their old design. It was getting too many CAE fanboi panties into a bunch over the similarities in the design.

The fact that he stopped selling the old design, went back to the drawing board to create something new and then release it speaks volumes to his integrity IMO.

I have no issues downshifting to second on track. I have race height shifter, 70D poly trans mounts, and GroupN motor mounts.

No issue with my rtd shifter without lockout.
You have to be really wanting it to be able to accedently get it in reverse
