Default Supersprint Street Section 3 weight.

Sorry I tried searching and google

It looks like the race is 25lbs

The sport or the street maybe 40lbs?

I have not been able to confirm the weight of the street exhaust.

I'm trying to save some weight without attracting to many cops or the wife hating it.

I have a Supersprint Sport muffler and weighed it before installation. Came out to 48 lbs.

There is another thread about muffler weight and the SS Street is basically a few pounds lighter than stock with less rasp and better flow.

I too want something quiet and light which doesn't really exist from what I can find.

Supersprint race is actually 29lbs unfortunately, weighed mine on 2 scales last week. Pretty bummed about that 4 lbs. lol

It's just not a thing. It needs that much weight to quiet the S54 down.

Default Re: Supersprint Street Section 3 weight.

sorry to dig up and old thread but to try summarise this:

OEM Muffler weight ~56lbs (found in multiple other posts as quoted by vendors and weighed by an E46 M3 owner matched)

SS Lightweight Race Weight ~ 29lbs (as quoted by an owner who weighed it in this thread)

SS Sport Weight ~48lbs (as quoted by an owner who weighed it in this thread)

SS Street Weight ~???lbs

So does anybody know the weight of the SS Street muffler to round out the set?

I currently have the sport muffler (as well as SS RHD headers, SS cats and SS resonated centre) and I don't think I will pass noise test (which is 90dB at 6000rpm, 500mm at 45deg) so I may need to change to SS Street... but I am tossing up whether to put on my OEM muffler to pass the test and then go back to SS Sport or just changeover to SS Street...

Any info on exhaust noise with a full SS setup and Sport and/or Street would also be helpful (even if its just some simple readings using a phone based sound meter)
