It's going back first thing Monday.

So much for extra 2 day delay from installer because "we want to test drive it".

Screw my last comment... that is not a bushing problem. That sounds is the gear. Point blank period.

Yea that is awful in the video. I thought I had bad diff whine, but you have really bad diff whine lol. I also brought my car back in to the installer yesterday. Hopefully both of our issues will get sorted out.

What's normal rotational play on the diff input shaft ?

On mine it moves almost 1/4" where the bolts connecting driveshaft to diff. are.

Is that too much ? Too little ? Just about right ?

Just right / normal. I've seen another local car with new reman shafts that had that much or more play.

PS> did you ever answer the bushing question? Do you have OEM bushings at all 3 diff mount points?

Please keep us updated. I have a 4.10 r+p waiting to go in and was going to take it to Turner. Curious to hear what they say.

That is the tolerance on the r and p. it's too close and needs to be shimmed out.

The noise will wear in a bit but it won't get rid of it all. There is too much pressure on the ring gear from the pinion and this will result in excessive heat and wear. Remember tolerance like this are so close that even a sheet of paper thickness can make it fugg up.

It sounds like there's no fluid in that box!

Yes, it sounds like there's no fluid, but it's there - I checked.

To me it actually feels like it's too loose, not tight. The backlash feels larger than on the 65k miles used diff I just picked up !

I'll be pulling it tomorrow.
