Regardless... Decent buy for $2500 IMO! Have fun with the car and definitely drive the piss out of it. Try not to crash, being 18 and all.
I know I'll get shit for it. But I bought bondo and ordered some paint. I'm gonna fill the rust spot. I know it's a shitty thing but it was annoying the hell outta me. I'm just gonna drive this until I find a cleaner one. Seems like nobody wants to sell their nice ones right now.

Hey now, I didn't end up wrecking the dakar. Hopefully this also stays in one piece.

Also cleaned and waxed the ltw wheels

Most important thing with body work is to take your time, and realize that each step is crucial and needs to be executed properly. None of it is really to hard, just detail crucial

I think a $2500 m3 is a fantastic first car for an 18 year old to “restore” good on you for going for it

Default 18 year old with a 23 year old german rocket!

Also to stop the rust, sand it down, then apply por15, it’s a rust inhibitor and will help coat the steel and protect it from further oxidation. Redish uses this product on rusty m3s undercarriages before paint

Maybe stop the rust or make it look a little better, but I wouldnt put too much time or money into this one, you did great at $2500. Drive it till you find "the one" then sell this thing for a profit. I would think if it runs as nice as you state its gotta be worth 5k all day cleaned up. Assuming those a LTW stamped wheels they have to be worth 1500 alone

I'm doing that and then using bondo over the areas where there wasn't any meal and painting it
