Default Florida silver grey zcp out for some air

Just sharing a few pics of my zcp, snapped while out on an early morning city drive, in Winter Park FL. I don't drive it very often, but I have off today and it was nice early this am.

About the car:

- 2006 ZCP
- 66k miles currently
- Every option except rear sunshade

The engine / suspension is stock. Not into performance mods anymore, but most likely would get a basic tune for improved gas mileage etc... other wise the car is in superb condition.

I acquired it some months ago because I had an RX8 GT (sold), so the M3 was my next logical step up being that I've had my ZHP since 08, so now I have both in addition to my beater civic that I use for the junk errands, gym, etc...

Anyway, recently done on the m3:

- Cruise control retrofit with E39 wiper stalk for M Track mode, and installed a new m-tri stitch leather steering wheel with multi function panels and trim

- New ZHP knob + Alcantara boot from my zhp (I put the M3 stock shift boot in my ZHP... looks better in there because the oe zhp shifter is shorter)

- Upgraded BM53 tuner with stage 2 amps and A2DP bluetooth for music streaming (phone connects to both oe bluetooth and A2DP)

- Repainted bottom part of front and rear door arm rests due to peeling (sanded all the crappy bmw finish prior... what a pain)

- Coded most of the useful features using PA soft
- Installed homelink garage opener module
- Installed oe BMW usb charging (from flash light glove box plug to center console)
- Replaced power steering cap seal
- Replaced driver mirror switch
- Replaced arm rest trim (rear of center console)
- Replaced driver side rear deck HK speaker
- Replaced rear windows weather tubes inside the back of both window finishers (known to rot)

- Repainted door finishers and rear window outer covering caps (flat black)
- Repainted windshield wipers (semi gloss black)
- Repainted hood vent (flat black)
- Repainted front bumper grill (flat black)
- Repainted fog light covers (flat black)
- Repainted oe front bumper (shaved off orange reflectors via plastic weld)
- Repainted (blended) hood and fenders to take care of rock chips etc.
- Repainted headlight lower trim covers + headlight washer covers
- Michelin super sports tires (275/30/19 in the rear, 245/35/19 in the front)

- New Nav screen + volume control board
- New rear windows vertical seals
- New rear windows gasket railings
- New front windows weather strips
- New front bumper weather strip
- New windshield cowling
- New middle console (armrest)
- New in-dash center console (A/C control + options)
- New M3 door sills
- New Euro tray
- New key
- New hood emblem + new grommets
- New oe headlight lenses
- New oe Philips DS-2 Xenon bulbs
- New oe corner lights
- New oe side markers
- New door panel clips for all 4 panels
- New HPS pillar covers
- New 15% Llumar Ceramic window tints

Next month will probably be time to replace the zcp brake rotors and pads with bmw oe parts and probably some preventative work on vanos. That's about it. Cheers.

Car looks superb! Funny I came from an Rx8 as well. This car is so much more refined.

Curious what you used to repaint the lower part of the door armrests? I'm looking to do mine too, but want a smooth satin texture that is relatively durable compared to the stock finish. Have any pics?

Very cool. Indeed the rx8 was fun, and mine was clean too (mint sunlight silver)... picked it up with 34k miles and sold it at 56k after 5 years, but always felt like it was a step down from my zhp, and you're right, the m3 is a beast... compared to the 8.

For the arm rests, I used Dupli-Color Vinyl And Fabric Paint, Flat black (HVP106, about $6 or $7 a can), picked up at AutoZone. Came out nice, clean and smooth after removing the bmw finish and sanding out the black texture...

I did some research a few months ago, prior, because mine had the usual scuffs and eye sores and I couldn't stand it even if I could hardly see it. I got the idea from here:

http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=39961

I didn't take any pics while doing mine, but will pull the car out this weekend in sun light and shoot a few to show the finish.

Can never get enough of these well taken care of unmodded E46s.

Silver grey with ZCP wheels looks superb.
