I just don't know where to begin.

Any help would be appreciated. Also this loss of power that people speak off, is it noticeable? ever since i got the car a few months ago i always felt like it was straining but when i smash on the gas the sucker does move.

These are the things i have done since i took ownership:

spark plugs (me)
fuel filter (shop)
vanos filter (me, i did this past weekend, could i have screwed it up some how and that is why the light is coming on?)
water pump(shop)
Belts, pulleys (shop)
Oil change(shop) putting it on a 7500 mile cycle
diff fluid and leak fixed(shop)
Remove and reconnect the vanos solenoid electrical cable connector. Even better is to spray the connectors with electrical contact cleaner. Make sure the connector snaps on.
If you continue to receive code P0010 this is likely due to a failing solenoid coil pack. The first post of this thread discusses this.

We have been looking into this problem on and off for a few years. Our first two approaches didn't work, but we are now settled on a final solution and it's currently in test. We expect to have it out in a couple months.
It’s simple and enacts very little change, so it's low risk. It's a relatively easy repair because the timing is not disturbed. It's also fairly inexpensive.
I will explain more when we launch the product.
I don’t have strong opinions on the turbotoys solution. I didn’t go down their direction and wouldn’t want to. I prefer a simpler or more complete solution. I like what we’ve done.

Is your solution compatible with the reinforced turbotoy hubs?

Only the first one which was inferior in many ways to the new version which is literally bulletproof.
