Thanks for accepting me on your site. BMW owners are very passionate and I am learning a lot from you. I currently have a BMW E36 M3. I also have a 1983 745I turbo in mint condition and a 1995 850CI. I live in Haiti, next to the Dominican Republic and an hour and a half from Miami. Thanks to you all.

BTW those are listed in BMW group numbers ( the first 2 digits) IE

11= engine
12= engien elctronics
33= rear axle
32= brakes/steering alighnment
ect. ect.

if any one want the list of group numbers ( not sure if it is listed here on this site) let me know. Most every thing for BMW start with it ( like parts numbers, buletins, repair instractions, and other things)

if you look at that list notice everying thing that starts with 33 is deal with the rear axle some how.

Here is what we're talking about: if you go to your BMW dealer and give him your VIN (vehicle Identification Number) he can print out the service history for your car - everything that has ever been done to it and any BMW dealer. however, the service history will contain a bunch of numeric codes rather than written explanations. You would have to enter those codes to learn what work had been done. If you don't already have those codes, the web sites and lists explaining them don't do you a lot of good.

If you don't have ready access to a BMW dealer, or yours isn't cooperative, you can get the information from a poster on Bimmerforums. Find a thread on service codes, post your car's VIN and he will post your car's service records.

Good luck.
