Thought I would ask the experts here....

I received the watch linked below as a gift. Price point is pretty cheap, but I really like it. I might change the band soon, but can't complain about anything else. Amazon also shows overall positive reviews. I'm not familiar with the Burgmeister brand, and searching turns up little to no info.

So is this a knockoff or homage of another high end watch? I can't find one with a similar face and I really like the face of this watch. I've been looking for the higher quality version for a bit now and can't find it. Probably going to keep this one for a while, but just wondering what other's thoughts were since I can't find much out there.

Amazon.com: Burgmeister Men's BM505-181 Melbourne Chronograph Watch: Clothing
It's an homage to the breitling navitimer:

You can find some used ones for a good price.

I really like the larger subdial that acts as the main second hand for the watch on the Burgmeister. It's not for the chrono. Any others that have that feature?

Probably not. This is the main reason why it's a homage to the navitimer and not a replica. They followed the same general format except did a couple tweaks.

The navitimer is the original one. I'm sure if you looked around for other homages you might find one with that set up.

Yeah it's pretty complex. There is absolutely nothing wrong with homage's since they are generally of great build quality and only try to remind you of the real deal. Replixa's on the other hand are iffy.

I don't mind the people that buy the replica version of their own watch so that they can wear it without worrying but it's a shitty market imo. What's funny to me is seeing which brands are faked the most.
