Default Considering buying this E46, damaged goods? Whats it worth?

2002 with about 100K miles, a car that needs some serious love, maybe more. Looks some frame damage and suspension issues. You can see someone installed subframe enforcement but its cracked, I am not sure if that happened before or after it was rear-ended. They couldn't fit it on the alignment rack because of toe and it wouldn't adjust any more. It is not my car just yet but I am considering buying it if the price is right, I would be using it as a drift thrash car.

What do you guys see?

How bad do you think the frame damage is?

How much do you think it would cost to fix?

And most importantly, how much do you think it is worth?

No worth buying at all. The money youíll spend on fixing it you can buy a much cleaner e46. Perfect candidate for a part out. Nothing more than that.

I donít know itís pretty impossible without having the car n front of me. Do you have any pictures of it before it was fixed and I can give you an idea. I have been rebuilding wrecked BMWs for 30 years this year. So if you have pictures of the damaged I can give you some good information because of the hundreds I have fixed I am pretty good at spotting frame damage when I see pictures of the damage. The pictures I saw didnít show anything but an extremely rough m3.

It would make one hell of a parts car. Or drift missile. You will need to reinforce the subframe before you get a total failure. Very good idea since it sounds like itís gonna be on the track.

Thats really what I would do, tighten hit up a bit, pull the interior out, a couple mods, and thrash it around. Just based on what you see here, can you throw out a ballpark figure?

Check out the wheel gap difference and also the gaps in the lid up against the quarter panels.

Run. Far and fast. Those welds are awful. There are several cheap M3s out there if youíre looking for a drift ****. Find one thatís 7-8k, strip it, sell of interior bits and get some money back.

Totally worth it depending on how much he is paying you for it.
