What scale is this 9 of 10.
Difficulty?
Priority?

I'm looking for top 5 or so preventative maintenance to-do items (include fixing things that break without owner knowing) which should be done to a stock m3 and are not be already covered by BMW service I/II schedule.

I've basically got a stock E36 M3 (CPO) which has had only regular maintenance & BMW service I/II, not counting recent head rebuild & replaced radiator.

Seems to me that catastrophic items such as Oil Pump Nut & RSM failure would have been addressed by BMW long ago via recall/refit on all cars. I definitely don't want to wait until one of these fail.

So I'm trying to find out what the ASAP fixes are so I can budget & plan for them.

HTH,
-JB

I've done a clutch, brakes, and some top end stuff. I feel like, to me, rebuilding the rear end and cams are the only couple things tougher than the OPN (except a full rebuild).

edit: I've done cams and multiple rear ends on other cars - just not on an M3.
