Default Control Arms replacement cost?

Hello all,

I recently brought my 03 M3 in for a long overdue coil springs replacement. The reputable indy shop I took it too replaced the oe ones with the eibach pro kit.

When they suggested doing an alignment I went with it and they said that they couldn't do it because the control arms are going and I need them replaced, bushings as well.

My question to the board is that how much should it cost to replace the control arms, and how long can I keep on driving before it needs to get done? Any recommended brands?

Thanks

they are alot. I'm having the left rear replaced as we speak. OE is the only way I would go with these. Not even sure if they are aftermarket available.

Would the control arms "go"? They are hunks of metal, unless they are bent I dont' see how they deteriorate. And why not the trailing arms?

if its the front control arms, it could be the ball joints going bad. the only way to replace those is by replacing the whole arm.

Yeah they said the ball joints were going bad and that's why they couldn't do the alignment. And they also recommended replacing the bushings as well.

Any guesses on cost and how long I can drive on this thing before taking it in?

Thanks again guys

based on what they said, the control arms about $600 online and fcabs are definitely cheap ($25) and worth doing at the same time (only a few extra minutes of labor)

i'd do it asap as you will get crazy wear on your tires

expect to pay about $200 in labor

Thanks for that info mpeg, I'm planning on doing it as soon as possible just wondering if crazy wear on the tires the only thing I would need to worry about until then or is my irrational fear of part of the suspension breaking down on the highway justified?
