X pipe wouldn’t help with street muffler?

Change it if you don't plan install headers . If you plan it leave stock section 2. I guess you want to go with u resonated x pipe ?

It is a great combo for a street car. The X-pipe will reduce the rasp and paired with the SS Street will give it a nice tone. It'll sound something like this, albeit quieter:

Resonated with the SS Street. With the non-resonated, it will sound tinny:

Or there is the budget alternative to the Resonated SS X-pipe. Keeping the stock headers, one could get another stock section 1 and make a dual resonated OE section 1. This would also preserve the crossover in the section 2 and dual pipe design which is slightly better for flow vs the x-pipe on a stock S54. It would give pretty much the same sound as the resonated x-pipe with the stock single resonated section 1. $50-100 for dual OE resonated section 1 vs ~$450 used x-pipe.
