Default Underdrive pulleys - stiff steering

Since I installed my TMS power pullies, the steering is very stiff and hard to turn when the car is stationary. Parking is harder since I have to put two hands to turn the wheel. Once The car is moving, the steering is normal.

Is this normal? I bled the power steering with both wheels in the air turning right to left around 20 times but this didnít help.

Yes itís called ďunderĒ driving.

Less effort is used to doing things like the PS pump and water pump. That results in them working less. Giving you less power steering

Curious why you installed under drive pulleys without knowing this as an outcome. It’s one of the main reasons people go with them.

Honestly, I was so hoping for that to happen, but still find sterling too soft.

I knew it would be stiffer, but not to this extent when car is stationary. May remove it since the power results are negligible.

u might have a bad ps pump. now when u say both hands...I've never used 1 hand to turn the M3 steering wheel...I feel like u're describing the wrong car lol.I mean it's not a Cadillac when stock. But when I had a bad ps pump it was tough to move the wheel. I have tms pulleys and the difference in steering effort is near neglible..maybe its a tad stiffer? But i drive stock m3s all the time and they feel similar.

If it’s that big of a change, then there’s something wrong. Install, bad part, or other worn items. I drove mine to the shop to have mine done and drove home immediately after install. Noticeable but feels stock after 30min of driving once you’re used to it.

Removing them is good move. And no power is made from it really. Hopefully you regain that stock steering again.

I don't think I have a bad PS pump since it works fine while driving. When I bled the system, I had both front wheels off the ground and the steering wheel moved easily.

Think I'll verify by I stalking my stock pullies on when I do my valve adjustments.
