Looks like you might as well use a standard PTFE line with AN fittings at that point

Updated OE BMW line > all aftermarket.

Do it once and be done with it, unlike the routine replacement needed with the aftermarket ones. Doesn't looking glaringly aftermarket on your engine.

Does anyone have pictures of a failed aftermarket line? I've heard of people carrying spares, but I've only seen pictures of the stock (non-updated) line failing.

The main part that concerns me on both is the section underneath the headers, where the stock line is flexible with some foil shielding just like any of the aftermarket lines.

You're hammering with your opinion rather than using actual evidence, for starters

Most of the companies making them tell you to inspect them yearly and carry a spare.

Again, I understand that.. and I read the warnings myself.. but multiple people including myself have aftermarket lines, track the car, and haven't found the need to replace them - even preventatively. In my case, I feel the need to go out and inspect it since I'm talking it up (stuff usually fails right after I do), but the line has been fine for four years.

That being said, we all know nothing aftermarket works in place of an OE valve cover gasket - there are plenty of people including myself with first-hand cases of even otherwise great brand names leaking like a sieve. I'm asking if there's similar first hand evidence of aftermarket lines failing after a year, or if everyone is forming conjecture off of warnings on a product page.

Why? Let's form conjecture from a recommendation to inspect a line annually for a car that sees extreme racing conditions. #m3forumlogic
