Default Seat frame broken, what are my options?

I replaced my recline gear today on my passenger seat. I put the seat back in the car and started reclining it. It wasn’t bolted in, not sure if it matters.

Anyways, while the seat was reclining, I heard a loud bang and found a piece of plastic under the seat. I took the seat out and found the spring/rod thing that goes into the gearbox housing had cracked right where it entered the gearbox and the plastic piece adjacent to it had broken.

Has anyone seen this before?

Is my best option to buy a used seat and swap my cushions over?

This is how it looked before the pieces broke:
