Don't really want a third old laptop around, so the ECS scanner would be nice if it will read the 1995 specific stuff. I guess I should ask them directly, but curious if anyone has tried it.
You could avoid the serial port if you got an ICOM.

On the E46 CSL, the rigidity comes from the necessary weld in cross brace. This is called the roof bow in the diagrams for E36 and E46. This roof bow isn't present on sunroof cars and is used on slicktops regardless if carbon or steel (E46 this I know to be true, and I'm assuming the E36 is the same).

The sedan diagram is accurate to the parts you would be sold... meaning the roof panel is just a skin. The coupe uses the same diagram but is not accurate to actuality as I already explained earlier.
That cross brace isn't structural.

That cross brace isn't structural.
It is often referred to as such.

Will an X brace bought off ebay, with all hardware, bolt directly into a 95 coupe?

Go check your front subframe for the nutserts required on the forward 4 bolt holes. If they are not there, then you will have to add them.

New question: Hello all! My passenger side visor light stays on even when the mirror is closed and it's tucked away. What's the best way to go about this? I've cleaned the contacts but nothing!

If the light stays on when the visor is stowed away I would think that rules out the visor itself and you have a shorted wire behind the headliner. Or the wiring up to the visor is shorted together.

Will the cable itself work with INPA or would I be looking at adding new software?

Armrest, (yep you need the whole shebang) Check. Alcantara armrest cover, shift boot, head liner, sunroof cassette, and "A" pillars? Check. I like the armrest, I only wish it would stay in the stowed up position sometimes.

BMW GT1 running on an IBM T30, that actually works? Check...
