Default 99’ 40K Mile M3 Vert - maintenance?

Hello,

I recently acquired a 99’ M3 Vert, with just under 40k miles. It’s unfortunately an automatic, but couldn’t pass on such a low mile example. It’s also entirely stock.

So far I have done the following:

1. Fresh Painted Bumper and new OEM front splitter
2. Huper Optik Ceramic (20% and 50% on windshield)
3. New OEM clear corners, side markers, and tail lights
4. New Bosch Ellipsoid Headlights
5. New moldings all around (front, rear, sides)
6. New Stromung staggered exhaust
7. BAV Sound Stage 1 speakers
8. CD43 Head Unit

Now I’d like to start on preventative maintenance.

What would be the first things to take care of on a 20yr old, low mileage E36 M3?

I am thinking the following:

1. Oil Change and replace oil filter
2. Flush Brake Fluid and bleed ABS pump
3. Flush Differential Fluid
4. Flush Coolant
5. Replace all air filters
6. Replace fuel filter

Any of these non essential? Also, any other items that need to be changed because of age and not necessarily wear and tear given only 40K miles?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Here she is when she arrived, will post updates once back from the shop!

I would do a 5 or 6 speed manual conversion and drive the car. It is great the last owner preserved it for the next owner but I hope it finally gets driven and enjoyed.

If this hasn't been done yet, I'd start with cooling system overhaul. Pump, TS, housing, hoses, belts, tensioners, fan clutch. Easy to do and not very expensive. Then plugs, all filters, all fluids.

You have the options list or can you do a VIN decode?

I’d like to see that spoilet listed as a factory fitted item.

To bad you swapped for clears. Amber looks fantastic on silver.

Don’t mind it being auto for now, once the trans goes, then I’ll consider a swap

How much do you suspect a cooling system overhaul costs?

I believe this spoiler is a dealer installed part... I was on the fence of taking it off, but gonna leave it be for now.

As for Ambers, the black rubber linings we’re starting to crack and dry out. So decided to try to clear look... I’ll order a set of Ambers for when I get bored of the clear.

Congrats on the purchase. I am a 6 month owner. Check out my build journal for thoughts on what maintenance to start.
