Default Re: I think it's the SMG pump...hopefully not.

Solid RED wire connected to relay pin6, jump it directly to the right fender pump post if you like -- don't run motor more than 20 sec or it could overheated.

(pin2 of the relay (RED/Yellow wire) can be the 12V supply to be used if you can verify it has power -- it should normally.)

Ahhh...got it. So key on, engine off, connect the solid red wire to red/yellow wire. If I hear the pump prime...this tells me?

You are getting power to the motor. If the motor runs and you are STILL can't shift, could be pump, pressure accumulator, etc. But likely both are fine and its the motor.

At your mileage, it is likely the motor is bad regardless, so I would replace it anyway, especially with your problem/symptoms.

OK bare with me as I don't want to f*ck this up. Red to red/white, hear the motor, hop in the car and try to start car or just see if I can get it into gear?

Hi bmw family!
Hello from Greece.
I just put a new smg pump motor from smgsociety.
I order the product to slove the problems-error codes they say on their page that eliminates them.
We put the motor and for surprise us the problems shown at the first ride.
Untit it wont engage gears anymore.I got diagnosis my car and i have the error codes 53,56,57
I have changed
1. new gps sensor 2.new slave cylinder 3.new clutch kit 4.new accumulator 5.new fluid 6.new temperature sensor.
NO leaks anyware. complete all SMG adaptions.
And for last part we put the motor he send to us witch is very weak and smaler testing on the bench with 12v supplier comparing my old motor .The car drives much better with the old motor.
I paid 375€ for nothing. That product is useless.

Hey fastsoup, I'm the one with the Burkhart kit locally in Van. PM me here or email me if you decide to go that route. I also have extra salmon relays and a few other parts if you need to borrow for diagnosis.

Nice...appreciate that. I went and bought a salmon relay yesterday from the dealer ($27) and wiring to jump the red to red/white to test the motor, went to the shop and he parked my car inside

I guess I can't complain...better inside than outside all weekend. Will have to try tomorrow morning. I'll be in touch.

The problem sounds like you are throwing parts at it without doing a thorough diagnosis of the issue. Did you start with checking codes? Did you check and replace the salmon relay?
