Default source for Bosch alternator diode rectifier pack?

Years ago on my 02/98 M3 the original alternator failed with only 28kmiles, battery light was always dimming, tested and found only around 10V with engine running, replaced voltage regulator, no change. Finally found out that 1or 2 diodes had died. Replaced the alternator with a 140A used one since then. Some years ago I tried to disassemble the rectifier to get to the diodes as these are available as single items. But the rectifier pack seems to be unserviceable, I cracked the housing and had to scrap the rectifier.
Now I am trying to rebuilt the alternator for stock and need a source and a part number for the correct rectifier diode pack, ETK does not show it as single item. I hope someone here on the forum knows a source plus correct part order number.
Data of the original alternator: Bosch 80A , BMW 12311744564, Bosch # 0 120 485 048. KC>14V 50-80A, Made in Great Britain, BMW # 1744562, Accdg to ETK new # 12311744562, 12341234667, remanufactured 12311744566

Pics of the defective rectifier below.
Checked Woodauto in U.K. if they might have something, but ...apparently not
https://www.woodauto.com/group/82/RTF---Rectifier
On the other hand a new rectifier costs usually about $60, a reman alternator might be another option, just have to check and compare and then I decide.
The same Bosch alternator is used in E36 M50, M52, S52, M3 and in E34 with M50 engines, so there must be a demand for such rectifiers.

The Bosch alternators are serviceable, which means, yes parts are available, however you are going to have to contact a rebuilder to source the parts.

Why not replace just the voltage regulator?

The voltage regulator is not the problem as mentioned in post # 1. V.- regulator was replaced against new one, but that did not solve the problem. Still no more than 10V and the battery light was always dimming. Replaced then the alternator against another one and all is fine.
We tested the rectifier and found defective diodes. That was already some years ago, now I just want to repair the original 80A alternator for stock.
The rectifier pack with the diodes pack seems to be unserviceable, I cracked the housing and had to scrap the old rectifier.
Now I am trying to rebuilt the alternator for stock and I was locking for a fitting rectifier diode pack for the Bosch alternator 0 120 485 048.
I am not in a hurry, still have one more used 140A alternator on stock, but want to repair the 80A one too.

The early 105 A Bosch Alternators had these parts available from BMW

Thanks, that is a different alternator number than my 80A Bosch 0 120 485 048.
ONLY applies to BOSCH 0 120 500 970 BMW 12311730753/1735 403
08 Diode assy 12311735307
Part 12311735307 was found on the following vehicles:
3' E36   (11/1989 — 12/1995) 5' E34   (06/1987 — 06/1996)
when I search with that no. it also fits a 90A
ONLY APPLIES TO BOSCH 0 120 469 969 BMW 12311730752/1735402
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...00#12311735307

so, still not sure, anyway, I am not in a hurry, the now installed alternator works and I found another working 80A alternator from a parts car in my boxes, enough for the moment, just want to see what fits

Any reason you're sticking with 80A? You can probably get a more modern 100-120A version for the same cost as the parts you're looking for...

no problem at all. At the moment I have installed a 140A, just wanted to repair the defective 80A for stock.
But you are right, a rectifier costs abt $60, for a bit more I get a new cpl. and higher A alternator, should go that route when needed and just leave the defective one as is or use as core when buying a reman.

I doubt you would need that much amps.

It will also draw more power, although that may be marginal.

In the old days, according to my old E36 brochures, you got the bigger alternators when a carphone was installed. Back in the days these needed quite some juice to send signals to a tower.

Now there is a GSM antenna at every corner.
