Default What are your top 5 mods?

Modifications/upgrades/improvements?

Having an e46m3 in the past and now an e36m3... E36 M3's are solid cars but theres always things to improve! I think it's important to have some feedback behind the wheel prior to listing your mods.

???

1. Kw v2 coilovers
2. LTW spoiler
3. M technic II wheel
4. AA exhaust
5. Volk te37

These cars are all at least 20 years old. Replace every mount, ball joint, end link and bushing. I think there are 31, depending on how you count. If you want to mod, stiffer subframe mounts, stiffer RTAB, stiffer front diff mount, stiffer front swaybar, stiffer shocks and slightly lower springs or coil overs. Next, add power — my preference is a turbo system.

1. Know what the parts are and not call everything “LTW”.

Default Re: What are your top 5 mods?

KW coilovers
GT2 wing
GT splitter
Proper HID retrofit
Interior swap

There’s tons of other stuff in there that’s important although it falls more under maintenance. Like buying the best tires you can and making sure your cooling system cools.

Tough call as my mod list is long.

1. Paddle shifters
2. Extended leather parts
3. OEM Carbon fiber console trim
4. Multifunction steering wheel setup
5. Harman/Kardon sound system

Bilstein PSS9 and BBS RS would be top aftermarket mods.

I didn’t modify mine very much, but I really liked my headlights with HID retrofit.

1. Bluetooth headunit or retrofit.
2. M50 intake or Shrick intake on S52 cars. Even if the car is no faster overall, not falling flat on its face above 5500 RPM makes things more fun.
3. Any factory or replica spoiler, except the low arch, on a non-spoiler equipped coupe. Coupes look like they're bald without one.
4. ZHP shift knob.
5. Removing the armrest, just gets in the way of the shifter.

I also like my HID projector retrofit and Ground Control suspension setup, but the US headlights were fine too after I polished and cleaned mine, and the stock suspension really is great. I don't consider the retrofit or suspension essential, like I do the above list.

I agree with what Phil said, also, I found installing the x-brace to be the simplest and highly effective mod.

1: Cliqtuning Overfenders
2: M50 manifold
3: Stromung Muffler
4: Siebon Hood
5: Sparco Seats

My car has a good amount of stuff done to it but it is rather tough to pinpoint the top five favorites. Doing my best here
