Judging by their marketing, and questionnaire they put out a few months back, these are assumingly China forged wheels.

Being forged in China would make these wheel much more affordable. There's a reason rac went of business. Not a lot of people are willing to spend over 3k on track wheels.

RAC didn't go out of business. RAC is two dudes (Ralph And Chuck) who happen to be friends with the owner of champion, and are willing to use that connection to run group buys for custom wheels. They could do this tomorrow, or in 5 years, and they would once again be branded as RACs.

Nor were their wheels expensive for what they were-- they just were wheels built to the level of BBS/Rays/Neez/Champion's forged offerings.

Interesting. But hey if you want premium forged in Germany then bbs already have you covered. Point is no need to make this a thread about China sucks.

I've cracked a few Arc 8's. All of them happened on the street

To be fair, as I alluded to earlier, having to have wheels custom made in limited runs certainly makes the wheel a lot less accessible to people. Don't get me wrong, it's super awesome to have a set of forged wheels specifically made for you, but it also means you can't just buy wheels as you need them, when you need them.

I wasn't around for the RAC buy, so I'm curious how much they ended up being for a set? I know for a full set of 18 inch TE37's (my personal dream wheel for my car), it runs about ~$3,500, plus or minus a few hundred. Curious how the RAC's compare. They're 10K ton forged like too like the Rays, right?

Well, that's disconcerting. I am planning, at some point, to buy a second set of wheels for my car, as was considering something from Apex, for the usual reasons (cheap, light, looks factory, good sizing choices, excet.), this is giving me some pause. I was, however, looking at the EC-7, which I believe is supposedly a little stronger than the ARC-8... but I'm curious as to how much stronger, and if it actually makes a difference.

Also, Apex has a two year structural warranty, right? Does that cover you if your wheel cracks during normal street driving?

I'm not anti Apex-- my track wheels are 17" Apex ARC8s. I just want to know what the actual product offering here is, so educated purchasing decisions can be made.

Depending on the exchange rate with Japan at the time, GBs ranged from $2700 to $3800. And, yes.
