I am going with Paolo_M3 setup.

OEM Aux Kit
FireFly BT unit (comes w/ the small 3.5 cable)

Default Re: Bluetooth/Aux input options for 2002 M3

I did the installation last night. Very straightforward (minus getting the navigation out, I didn't have those two small thin tools for the lower piece. I had to take the entire din out and just force it out from the bottom).

OEM Aux Kit for Navigation
Firefly Bluetooth
Dual Port Charger

Works exactly the way it should. Connects right away, sound quality is actually very good. Not sure why BMW didn't have the aux kit/cable standard since the connection is on the harness already from factory. Clean install, and clean look in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Default Bluetooth/Aux input options for 2002 M3

I use the firefly, it's been wonderful in the 5 months of use. Tonight I made this because I hate having the bins open.

Started with a flashlight and usb i bought off Amazon

After much grinding to get the usb to sit where I wanted I soldered two wires as such (apologies, I forgot to take pics of the actual part prior to sealing it up)

I glued that up with some super glue and Magnobond 6367 mixed with chopped glass (I bet hot glue would work, I used what I had handy) and now I have a fully functional glovebox usb for about $15

The beauty here is that the firefly now only gets power when I hit unlock and as soon as I hit lock it powers off. Before when it was in the cig lighter I always had to unplug/plug the firefly to get connection I assume because the cig lighter stays powered after locking.

Edit: if anyone wants the same setup I have another usb and 2 12v outlets as well as 3 lights. PM me

Thatís how I have my Bluetooth receiver and dash cam hooked up. Then I can still listen to Bluetooth audio while I work on the car without the key in ignition.
