Default Re: Underdrive pulleys - stiff steering

i have them and never noticed it being to stiff to use when stopped or parking. it should not have changed it that much. but yes having a firmer steering feel is a byproduct of the underdriven pullies. i have the tighter CSL rack and pullies and don't find it difficult.
but then again it's relative to each person's strength and desired feel.

when I installed my UUC underdrive kit it did feel a bit harder but not all that much harder than stock. it actually feels nicer with the heavier steering.

you probably just needa start working out.... LOL all jokes aside it shouldn't be that hard to turn the car at all, I can still turn my car with one hand on parking lot speeds so you may have a bad PS pump. And remember the faster your car gets the easier the steering will feel thats why at speed you don't notice it. but on slow parking lot speed that's when you will feel the strain of not having power steering.

I think it is a bad pump now. Can't I believe I've been driving like this for the past two years. Easy test to verify it was the pump was when turning the wheels stationary, it was very stiff, but once I revved it to 2k rpms, it got easier.

I too have the TMS under drive pulleys. The steering is heavier than before. I really enjoy it!
