4.27.19 update.....

so you all know I'm not drinking the ls cool-aid.... here's some balanced feedback so if you do this you will know what to expect

1. the vorshlag motor mounts have a small poly bushing.... which is great for strength and racing.... but transmits more nvh to your are se..... so be ready to loose some refinement if you care.......

2. I've been tracking down some engine noises.. on the drivers-side.... compression good, re tq'd rr's 3x..... new tune, new injectors, new rr's, new pushrods (confirmed pre-load).... new lifters...... I'm chalking the noise up to a) ls1 noises..... , and b) possible piston slap..... which I'm finding was common in the 01 and 02 ls1's in the f bodies..... I'm told as long as it's got good oil pressure, and compression.... piston slap is just an annoyance.... so we'll se.... I'll most likely be picking up another ls for a 408 build.. but I'm getting ahead of myself
3. with the bigger cam, long tubes, 3" dual cats, stock m3 resonators, and dinan cat-back the engine is very tame....... very streetable. I'll also be testing the stock catback for another level of quiet. I'll also be bulding a custom high-flow mid pipe and cat back later all borla stuff..... which will sound like a vette..... when done.
4. having redone my clutch pedal with the orig drive train.... with the mason clutch pedal..... the feel of the trans am pp/clutch is good... but just not as refined or precise as the stock m3 setup. I had to remove the midpoint helper spring, and I've got a return spring on order..... perhaps that will tighten things up.......

next steps....
bleed brakes (suspect relocated abs is causing my extended bleed session),
put drivers header back on.... (had to remove to do comp check),
re-install sp plugs, coil packs, sp plug wires.....
install new cooling system, and f body fan setup......

test drive>>>> if above goes well.
My next major fix will be bleeding the brakes.... super spongy now.

will post up content when I finally get some road time..... for now it' sjust been idle, and a couple in-/out of the garage with my leaking clutch.... now fixed.

freaking awesome build man! Ive tossed around the idea of an LS3 swap down the line or boosting the s52. $500 is a killer deal for the S52. If I were closer I would snag it to build for boost.

Only thing i notice that scares me is how you ran the front passenger brake line down under the engine...I would have ran it in the stock location to avoid it getting damaged and leaving you with 550hp and no front right brake...

Love this thread. I miss my LS cars sometimes, very interested to see your thoughts on the build once it is complete.

This is how the vorshlag race team builds these swap cars from their shop.... and they do some serious track time. I guess if my engine threw a rod, I could lose brakes.... but seems I'd have the same risk with the same line over the back of the engine.

Steve - thx..... you could throw this together much faster if you were willing to cut corners, and use more zip ties and duct tape LOL...... my compulsion to custom fab 'elegant' fitments.... most in a custom fashion just drags out the most simple task....

Today it was mounting the euro tank, and re-arranging the power lead block and the swap fuse block in the psgr side eng compartment.....

had to weld in some new mounts to use the factory bmw coolant tank mounts.... AND instead of commonly used zip ties.... I brazed some al mount pcs to try to elegantly mount the div valve to the coolant tank.......

took all day to do this LOL......

time to call it quits....

So if you ever thought about an older f car—/. My blinkers on the 360 started an intermittent issue... f of na wants 10k to replace the out dated relay based immobilizer. Or I can have the ecu flashed to by pass the factory immobilizer for $700. Option 2 it is.

If I keep 1 car it will be the e36.

Just figure out which relay is bad and replace that?
