Thanks everyone for the ideas, solutions, and sarcasm. New battery is in the car. It is makeshift mounted properly. There is a hole in my car beneath the battery so I decided to rivet some metal sheets over the hole. While I was doing that I made holder for my battery. Easier to me then drilling out the screw that holds the battery I twisted the screw in half. So the bottom on the screw is in the car and I have part of the screw in my hand. Also while changing my oil my battery died. It was from 2001. So I got a new one. Once again thanks, am newish to the fourms here and so far they are really helpful and a good read!

On a VW bug I had, someone heavy sat in the back seat and shorted the battery. The wiring was glowing cherry red hot and the insulation was dripping off it. Yeah was not pretty. Respect the amperage the battery can deliver.
When you work on your M, take the extra time and expense to do it right. Any car, for that matter. Sent from my MB870 using Tapatalk 2 |

Duct tape has gone up man. Bubble gum and hope, that's what I would use. Forget all that other crap I was spewing...

You are begging for rust by doing that. Drill the rivets back out, paint the area then rivet the patch panel back on if you must have one.
