Default Wine Drinkers unite?

We have a scotch thread and a liquor cabinet thread. But with all the oppulence that is displayed in OT, I haven't seen a wine drinkers thread?

Where are you at and what do you like?

Recent faves of mine:

Mollydooker Carnival of Love (syrah)
Amon Ra (syrah)
Domaine de la Presidente Cotes du Rhone Villages Cairanne Grands Classiques (good inexpensive red)

2004 Chateau Olivier Pessac-Léognan. Incredibly smooth Bordeaux and a decent bargain at around $30/bottle.

Favorite white at the moment would probably have to be Finca el Origen Torrontés. For some reason I've been liking floral wines more and more over the past year or so.

I'm not a wine expert, but I appreciate a good red. This is my current favorite: Le Prieure from Chateau Ksara - Lebanon. It's only $9 at my local Mediterranean grocery store.

Had some 2009 Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc Pessac a few weeks ago for a get together which was fantastic. I made a red grouper ceviche and brought the wine along to pair with it and it was a huge hit.

The wife and I have definitely been much more of a red kick lately. Big and bold ones as well!

We have lots of wine. Mollydooker is one of my favorite Australians. We belong to St Supery and Frogs Leap wine clubs as well. Whatever they ship us, we drink.

Heard of but haven't had Frog's Leap. I haven't been looking at Cali wines much (other than old vine Zinfandels). Actually haven't done much US stuff at all lately.

Other than anything from Charles Smith (K vintners especially) which is Wahington based. Love his stuff!

Chateau Dom FTW!

We belong to 2 wine clubs: Preston of Dry Creek and Shone Farm (Russian River). Wife works for Deering, which is in Sonoma Valley near Kunde.

Our "cellar" contains mostly wines from Sonoma including Acorn, Porter Creek, Lancaster Estates, Garden Creek, and Wilson. Just tried a sparkling Sav Blanc from Bodkin that was great. Right now blush wines of all varieties are hot.

I don't have an actual "favorite," although I tend towards zin and sangiovese. And KJ makes a chard that is outstanding, but it's only available at the tasting room or on-line:

Got into wine about 6 years ago when I had one I finally liked and still love today - 03 Jordan. I love the early 00 years but haven't been crazy about them after 05.

Love a good earthy Rioja or Bordeaux. Malbecs are inexpensive and reliable (Luigi Bosca DOC) but usually I like Cab Savs from California, especially when they're blended with a little Cab Franc.

St. Supery Elu is a good example of a great go-to California cab blend

Had some good French wine for my dads 80th birthday earlier this year... also made some foies at home to take to him (he was in the hospital at the time).

The Pomerol was superb.
