Bavarian Machine Specialties has a very good reputation but they are pricey. What do you need done? I have a friend who has a shop and I have let him work on mine a few times when I did not have the time to DIY and I can do just about anything myself. He is very reasonable on labor and does good work which is why I have used him on certain things because my time was worth more than the labor cost. He installed headers for another forum member for I think $300 and did couple of other things for him and I know he was happy. You don't need a BMW specialist for most work on these cars. Diagnostic tools are the big hindrance for most shops and that is where the specialty shops tend to excel.

Thanks a bunch!! I just had the inspection 2 done at Advantage Clear Lake in League City. They adjusted valves and replaced my RTAB's. They charged 1600. The SA stated that my power steering pump has a pin hole leek and my brake pads are probably going to be due soon. I'm just tired of the stealer and I knew there were options. I have 80000 miles and pretty much baby the car so I know I can get a lot more. Just putting some feelers out. You H town guys may have seen me around as I am in Houston alot in Med center. 2004 Carbon Black, Beyern wheels and offset front L plate holder with bavarian MS angel eyes. Left side went out this a.m. I guess I need to check the fuse.

Thanks again. Oh and do you guys know who will remove a clear bra? I know everyone says its an easy DIY but I dont think I have the patience.

My friends shop is in Kemah and inspection two would have been whole lot cheaper. Alternator, belts and idlers (I bought the parts) was $150 for labor. Swapping my broken half shaft was $160 with labor. I normally do my own work because I like it and don't trust people to work on my car but I trust him and I was to busy with work to jack with it. I did my own subframe repair and reinforcement, swapped my own differential, and did my passenger half shaft when it broke. I have just been to busy with work to have time to work on my car.

Nice. I would like to meet with him and have him take a look. I dont trust the stealer.
I had my recalls done subframe and SMG relay. And I agree these cars are not hard to
work on if you have the right tools. I would never attempt what you did but batteries
and simple things are more my speed. I travel alot for my job so I would have to schedule out in advance. Any thoughts on the clear bra?? Its pretty scratched up and
I am ready to make a move.
