While we're on this topic:

Since I do so many, some naturally end up for sale. I get hit up from time to time by potential buyers who are a bit skeptical. Once i give them a clear picture and explanation of what goes on with a conversion they usually have no more concerns. The majority of people (or well at least E46 M enthusiasts/shoppers) seem to be open minded that way.

On the other hand I've also noticed once or twice some cars I've converted listed online by their seller with no disclosure of the trans conversion Makes me raise an eyebrow but apparently they sell just the same

In my own case, I often wonder if just buying an S2000 and figuring out a way around it's impracticality as a DD would be easier than modifying an E46 M3 to excel in ways it may never be able to do without doing a Singer-level rebuild of it.

I own both. My conclusion is that I can't live with the s2000 as an only car (in Seattle), and that it doesn't make sense to own two cars. So I'm selling the s2000 and will be trying to dial in my m3 to drive like the s2000 did.

That's just foolish. Your work is so well documented and photographed that that kind of disclosure can only add value to the sale. There'll still be the collector types that only want factory, but many many sane people in the used market appreciate thorough documentation of work, no matter how complex. (Imagine that...)

From the feedback I've gotten thus far, I think you're right :-)

If it ever comes down to it, you can simply pick up the used parts again and revert it back.

Almost all of these M3's are going to be Sub 20K these days, are we really concerned about what a sub 20K car is worth these days?

Drive the car, enjoy it and use it to it's fullest. I'd be far more concerned with the subframe than a swapped car.

BTW, I love my DCT in my E90 M3! While I miss rowing the gears I think I've made the conversion to quicker, more automated transmissions in the future. It's defiantly better at the track than any manual.

Every trace was replaced to eliminate the smg past. From correcting the instrument cluster to a new wheel. Cars never reverting back.

You removed all the excess wiring for the SMG hood latches and swapped to manual hood latches even? That's a pretty committed Swap! I thought only Braymond was that OCD!

Maybe every trace was a bold statement. The swap was done by kaiv. Then I ascetically made changes to take away the visual signs of the smg.

How does the 6mt hood sensor wiring differ from the smg hood sensor wiring?

SMG Hood Latches the lower ones under the radiator support are connected to the SMG harness to help determine wheter or not the hood is closed.

I'm assuming it's a magnetic or hall type switch.

Quick way to identify a real from converted car is looking down the hood latch hole with a flash light and seeing the switch. If you don't have access to a Vin decoder etc.
