Default HRE Story - Bad Beginning, Happy Ending!

I just had the most unbelievable great customer service story involving HRE Wheels in Vista, CA for the M3 Forum. Here goes:

For my 1983 Audi ur quattro, I've been searching for an extra set of rims. In an Audi Forum, there was posted a set of "HRE" 7.5 x 15 mesh style 3 piece wheels. Fast forward a week, I open the box and only to discover two of the four rims required reconditioning, one had a bent outer rim, and another a nice four inch long series of gouges from being curbed.

I contact Vince at HRE and tell him I have a vintage set of HRE three piece Techno R wheels. He confirms he has parts, so I drive there and deliver them. Vince's team begins to clean-up the wheels and disassemble them to install new outer barrels. Low an behold, HRE's outer barrels on the twenty hole bolt pattern do no match the outer barrels on wheels I brought them. It turns out, due to the age of these wheels, being about 25 years old or so, everyone was mistakenly fooled by the fact that these were HRE ***REPLICAS*** and NOT the real deal.

Skipping some detail, Vince contacts me and notifies me that HRE does not work on a competitor's wheel due to liability. That makes sense. I'm really bummed now. I request Vince to put the wheels back together so that I may take them to another wheel repair shop. A day or so later, Vince calls and tells me my replicas are ready to be picked up. I arrive at HRE and I could not believe my eyes! Vince went ahead and completely repaired the curbed and badly bent bent rims, installed new hardware, silicone sealed the halves, and polished the wheels to make them look like new condition, but since no HRE parts were really used, THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME A SINGLE PENNY!!!! That's right, they did for free, gratis, no charge!! And on top of this, they gave me a free t-shirt.

I just wanted eveyone to know about my killer good experience at HRE. I have HRE wheels on my M3 now, and from here on out, whenever I shop for wheels, without a doubt, they will be HRE wheels.

THANK YOU VINCE & HRE!
You are THE BEST!!

I'm calling shenanigans on this one. What you don't know is that you NOW have some clean reps as opposed to the original damaged authentic HRE's

jokin, thats awesome!
