Only if BMW realized how much of a demand there still is for this oil and how much they're losing on people shopping for it elsewhere. You'd think some profit is better than no profit ay?

Reference the supply agreement with Shell to understand why.

This. And they want to charge me $13.99/L for their effort If I want to pay $13.99/L, I can just walk into an O'Reilly without the part counter drama.

EDGE Supercar was on Prime Deal for $8.54/L if you bought 12. I picked up that deal.

I just want to take the time to thank the guys in this thread who suggested going to the Audi dealership. I just returned from it with enough Castrol 10W-60 to do a complete oil change, and at a price (around $9.50/quart) that seemed to significantly undercut everyone else.

The parts guy told me he had never sold 10W-60 before, but when I told him that the Audi dealer had the best price on this specific oil, and what car I was buying the oil for, he told me he understood completely. I am a little surprised he had never sold any 10W-60 before... I guess the sort of people who own Audi's that require 10W-60 oil are not typically the DIY "change it yourself" type? That, or maybe everyone with an R8 who changes their own oil just knows an even cheaper place to get the stuff then we do!

Id imagine the middle aged men who own R8s do not dabble with their own oil change. Im sure its not as simple as it is on our cars for example either lol.

Oil change process on an R8 is a PITA. There are like four drain plugs, and the procedure for adding oil and ensuring you put the correct amount in is annoying. The process takes a few hours.

by volunteering all that info you're pretty much telling them to raise the price on it
