I would never give up the e46 for the e9X. I hate the way the e90 looks (i think its one of the uglier 4 doors out there..look at Audi's RS4 (thats a nice looking 4dr)). Also hate the V8..i drove the e90 and if i want to UPGRADE to the v8 i want more torque. Drive a C63 and you will know what i mean. The e92 body style i actually prefer the cleaner lines of the 335 than the M's.

I wouldn't, but not because I think the E9X M3 is a bad car. I'm at the point where I'd rather have an older, cheaper "fun" car and a nice daily for about the same total $$$ versus just the one nice, new M3. Plus, for me, the E9X has started to go down the slope of diminishing returns regarding overal cost and luxury to be just a "fun" car.

The E46 will likely be in the garage for a while and slowly get modified for more track use (suspension, seats, etc). Down the road I'd rather add a nice, larger DD (525d if we're lucky?) and keep the E46 than sell it and buy an E9X. Right now the E46 already splits DD with the Saab, and I'm pretty happy with the combo.

I would keep my ///M3 for sure. I really love everything about this car, the looks....performance....If anything, I would get either an e90M or Audi RS4 for my second car.

I've tried, several times, to like the current M3 but it just doesn't grab me the way the e46 M3 does. And if I had to choose, I'd pick the sedan over the coupe... the convertable doesn't even exist to me, lol.

I can't say never..but I just got into my e46 M and I have wanted one and searched for a long time and I am enjoying every ride no matter to the store or out for a joyride.. my previous BMW 325i was the practical family man car but I would never go back -the power of the M is too alluring. However, I won't say that I won't ever consider the e9x-just not interested for now. I'm sure someone at BMWNA would be interested in topic/similar topics for other models considering the seemingly slow new car sales.

I have the same mindset.

Also agreed. The e46 is just too much fun to get rid of but a e92 with a warranty would be a sweet DD.

I would go with a little older turbo or c4s than upgrade to the M3, then again I dont need any utility, I have a truck for that.
