Arrow Subtle vented hood (e9x vents with gtr style side vents)

Hey guys,

Wanted to see if anyone had more info then what i have on this hybrid hood that is a mix between the e9x vents and the side vents of the gtr hood.

So far i can only find it sold here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E46-M3-2...-/300909211783

Which is $$$$ and has ugly grills

At the end i want to look like this: (which i believe was custom one off at the time)

I think it would look better without the larger gtr vents (just the e9x vents), but for an aftermarket hood, I like it.

+1

The E9x nostrils look sexy on there.

I like the smaller e90 vents but not the combo of the two...

Looks interesting. The E9X vents would relive tons of heat, especially since it looks like thats where my BOV is

I can imagine the fitment of any eBay style hood being horrendous. The labor required to install the e9x hood vents in your OEM good isn't THAT much, so you could always go custom as well.

Jun's hood (second pic) is a fully customized Vorsteiner GTR hood. He removed the inner cf vents and added the e9x vents.

Member Kal_El has something similar!

Really good job!

Can you help me find out where you bought the vents? I am now thinking of just finding a stock hood and modding it.

Any details on the actually process like measurements cutting and mainly filling it into place making it flush

bought the vents for $100 shipped from china, emailed this seller here and he sent them to me (http://www.ebay.com/itm/120854279316...S:1123&vxp=mtr) two weeks shipping, not bad.
As far as the cutting, i cut the outer vents and made my own diagram for it, cut it on carton first to make sure it's the prefect size i want, then i used the cut on the hood
As far as an aluminum hood, it will be tough, first cuz i used my CF hood and fiber glass to do the work which is not gonna work with aluminum, second it will be hard to attach plastic with metal.
I used my Sebion hood that i had for while, it needs a lot of patience BTW and a lot of fiber glass work also to fill the gap between the hood layers.
