Worked like a charm bump.

I used jig-a-loo, or im sure WD-40 would work as well.

This creaking has been driving me crazy - of course, I was thinking it could be the subframe cracked, but this was the fix. I was about to bring it in to the shop to have them check it out, but decided to search one more time here. Thanks Norm!

Good to know Mike.
It was my indy tech who, from experience, knew about this tendency.

Once in awhile I refresh the lube point, but other then that, it's been nice and tap-free!

Good grief...looks like I'm going to lube my nipples up as preventative maintenance now.

- Tennis ball wedged in the rear...check.
- Nipples lubed in the front...check.

just started hearing this creaking noise today when going up a steep driveway and making a hard right turn.I thought it was my suspension but will try this to see if it works.its clearly coming from the front dash driver's side.can't belive those "nipples"can make a sound like that.

Bump now that winter is here. We had our first cold morning on Tuesday and I started hearing a creak as the chassis would flex and it sounded like it was coming from inside the dash somewhere. I began to dread the enormous pain in the ass this was going to be to track down when I decided to do some searching on here and found this thread.

I greased my nipples and the noise has gone away completely! Thank you!! I would have NEVER guessed this was the cause!

I'm glad you found this thread.
I continue to benefit from this little lube job. No more dash creaking.
