My SMG is holding up for now but I would buy into any upgrade that works when I do have to rebuild.

Default M3 SMG pump reconditioning

It was a tough decision because the car is drivable when the weather is cool. But I've been stressing too many summers now. Knew the day would come since I bought the car and I'm glad Burkhart Engineering provides a solution that's a lot less than replacing the whole hydraulic unit ($3100 at BMW w/ discount).

Hopefully it arrives soon!

Order my kit from Burkhart on June 19th. 2 1/2 weeks later and nothing. Got a tracking number from DHL that worked for the first few days after shipping. DHL tracking shows it will be handed off to USPS. USPS tracking shows its waiting to receive from DHL. Grrr..... Ordered the pump and solenoid viton seals from Taiwan last week, arrived in 4 days.

I've enjoyed my Burkhart replacement so much. The car drives in heat and with the AC on and I'm at the point now that I forget that the car used to have problems and I just drive. Which is the whole point. I don't drive nervous or worried. My shop did the replacement with the whole kit of fluid and sensor, etc. and reset the adjustment. Drives perfectly.

Can you give us source and part numbers for these?
These are just the ones where they seat to to the valve body I presume,
nothing internal, correct?

TY! Finished rebuilding the unit tonight with the new parts.

Anyone happen to know if the adapter piece between the motor and the unit is supposed to be loose? (It's like a female flathead on both sides)

A lot of grease was supplied. I used a bit around that adapter piece and around the gasket on the motor. Didn't bother using any for the accumulator and temperature sensor because they didn't seem to have any prior.

BTW: Old motor with power cables weigh in at 37.6 oz and the new BE one with cables is 31.2 oz.

I got the 16 piece bring kit from Ebay seller twinturbo30psi . It included the o-rings for the 4 solenoids on the pump assembly. He also has a listing for the seals inside the pump

My motor from Burkhart arrived yesterday!!!!
