Default Unable to read DME or any modules

Hey guys,

I was trying to connect to my car with INPA, but I am getting an error along the lines of "Date transmission disturbed, process stopped", and I am unable to do anything with it.

I didn't have this issue previously, and it's happening with cables that worked before.

Does anyone have suggestions for what I should look at to resolve this?

The only module I've replaced during ownership is the LCM. I installed one with updated software but was "viriginized" prior to install. So there's no tamper dot or anything like that.

Your help is appreciated.

If the car is working otherwise, sounds like a laptop or connection issue.

I'm thinking it's a connection issue of some sort as the car has no issues otherwise. The curious part is the issue occurred with two different laptops that both have no issues connecting to other E46 M3s.

Strange indeed. I know some older M3s need two pins on the connector to be shorted. Maybe the previous cars you connected to didnít require this?

Connect to battery tender and try again?

Do you have a generic odb reader? Does it work?

Is it just inpa that doesnít work? Can you read the DME using bmwflash?
