i was looking at a sunfire yrs ago, but i heard that they are very warm and that i might not like em. my latest addition is an anthem avm30, which i've yet to hook up

You mean temperature warm or sound warm? If you mean sound warm, maybe very slightly, just to imitate a tube amp. Extremely minor though, def not a deal breaker at all.

I don't think so. Moving the same speakers a couple of feet makes more of a sound difference than changing from the Sunfire to something else. Seriously, if you do a A/B comparison I think you'll be hard pressed to hear a difference.

It's cheap because no one's buying it for $4k

At this new price it still faces stiff competition that have more features, but less power.

Bob Carver, though, gotta love him. He was THE man back in the '80s.

Yeah Bob's a super nice guy. Met him at CES in the late 80s. I still use his old 4.0 amp. Great technology.
