Please post FULL details on the warranty company and warranty. Lots of people ask about aftermarket warranties - and this company sounds like one to avoid. Name, address, website, anything to help people identify it.

Im having this valve replaced today...although mine has been leaking I guess since Nov..I checked oil level, didnt seem off...for a 30min job Im a bit miffed though to be paying 300.00...and this is from an indy shop. We tried as well to put it through my 3rd party warranty...they said no, because its a valve...well duh, its not the valve thats the problem..its the rubber gasket that fails...they still wouldnt go for it. Jerk offs. My coverage includes seals and gaskets ect...what ever, lessoned learned.

Yes, i feel the same, thats why I hate warranties, they always find a way to weasel out of paying, probably cheaper to save the money and use it for repairs. The part itself is only $30 or so and takes about 15-20 mintues to change it. I guess the indy shop I went to charged $200 cause they knew it was only about 15% of the actual cost at the dealer.

The indy shop did show me the tool they used (small ratchet with a 2" stubby screwdriver attached with the handle removed) and the location of the valve on a pulled engine (I will post the pic).

Glad you got it fixed though.

Yeah, Id be interested in seeing the pic...I laugh, because every time I go to service this car, theres always something else getting added to the bill....all I wanted was to change the oil and do a coolant flush.

I'm getting my CPV replaced today also. The leak will be drops on the ground/garage floor. It pools on the thrust plate/skid plate under the oilpan and drips to the ground from there. It's going to cost 352.00 at my local dealer, Tom Bush BMW in Jacksonville. They are also flushing my brake fluid, replacing wiper blades and doing an oil change as part of the maintenance warranty for free. Unfortunately, the CPV repair doesn't fall under warranty work.
