Default help! Passenger Seat Lever Broken - how to replace?

Does anyone know how to replace the Driver/Passenger Seat lever? The lever allows u to roll your seat forward so passengers can climb into the back? my passenger side lever was broken, i got a replacement but not sure how to replace it. I've looked around without much luck for instructions

Thanks in advance

Tim

If you can figure it out, do it yourself. Mine was under warranty so I had the dealer do it. It took BMW 2 F'ing weeks to get the part to my dealer, at least that is their story. Then it took several days for them to get to it.

it takes 5 minutes to do. take a pair of pliers. grab hold of the broken piece. twist counter clockwise. pull. the broken piece comes out.

then. take the new part. stick into place til u hear a click. then u set!

took me about 3 minutes in total and this includes getting the little black cover off

I know this is an old thread, but the lever on my drivers side just broke off.

Do you by chance have a picture or better explanation? It sounds like i dont have to take the cover on the back of the seat off in order to fix it...is that correct? Is it really just as easy as fixing it with the full seat intact?

Thanks!

Hmm. I'll try to explain it with words.

realoem parts page for reference :

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=52&fg=10&hl=9

The plastic handle (#4) is slipped onto a metal bar in the seats.

There's a plastic trim around the handle (#7) that you can just pop off with a plastic pry bar if you want to be able to see what's happening better.

The plastic handle is held on the metal bar with some plastic spring prongs. The twist-off method will basically just bend the prongs and get it to release. You can also get some small screw-drivers in there to release the prongs and then it just pulls off.

The replacement piece just pops in. (PN 52107064869 or 52107064870)

So just to be sure I don't order the wrong part, could you please specify which part # corresponds to the driver's and passenger's seat? I'm in the US, and my driver side pull tore off, just want to make sure I order the right part. I wasn't sure if outer left or outer right meant facing the seat or when sitting in the seat. I'm probably over-thinking it..

Thanks!
