How do you remove the seat belt from the rear seat?

2-door or sedan?

You seem to be asking about a coupe, so you can pop the plastic cover off of the upholstered back and there is a 16mm bolt that secures the belt assembly to the rear seat frame. It's best to just take the whole assembly out, including the colored plastic trim at the top of the seat, because it will probably break if you try to remove the colored trim on it's own.

It is coupe with fold down rear seats, so the 16mm bolt is visible after removing the small oval plastic tab in the rear?
The top plastic trim is attached to the entire assembly and is removed together only after removing the 16mm bolt?

Yes.

The top plastic trim is attached to the seatbelt assembly, not the seat, so you lift the whole seatbelt assembly, trim and all, out once you unbolt it.

It's easier to remove the top plastic trim intact once you have the seatbelt assembly out of the car, but we all know how tabs on automotive plastics this old like to break. The plastics in this area are especially bad because of all that sunlight that hits the rear deck-area.

Great useful info, thanks.
I have one more question...after removing the assembly how can the top plastic be removed from the seatbelt, because I see on one end there is a buckle and on other end the assembly and both are larger than plastic slot.

i'll continue this project this evening possibly.

for anyone getting ready to start this i recommend being very gentle w/ the top trim piece, mince came off ok but on one end the thin plastic lip cracked and broke a little where it sits in the sun and is now very brittle.
