Default Re: e46 stereo wiring harness guide

I installed Android 8.0 Headunit. I have Harmon Kardon system. The install went great...except no sound.

The company provided mediocre support, but did direct me to connect the AMP-CON to the HK Amp, needing +12V with ACC = ON (JPG)

They did give me non-specific info on connecting the HU to the HK amp in the trunk. Call me lazy, but I don't want run a wire all the way to the trunk...there has to be something in the dash that tells amp to fire up in the stock system (yep advanced thinking).

I looked for days for good information on the HU --> Amp trigger. This post along with a few other sources (youtube and other BMW forums) gave me the info...well, Obioban the go and fiddle.

In the dash on the 17-pin BMW radio harness, I tested the "White- Antennae" connector (actually beige colored wire, located in one of the corners). On the multimeter, ACC = ON, gave ~+12V. Test connected the AMP-CON to the Beige wire connector and voila sound! Found these really handy T-splicers on Amazon, (search = T Tap Electrical Connector Quick Splice) for the permanent connection. (JPG) Works great, no hum.
