I can provide the Gerbers, etc if someone wants to take over building the existing BDMs for folks. It's about 2 hours to solder up a few at a time. The software as well if someone really wants to improve things.

I just frankly don't have the time anymore. I wish I did!!

I was working on a PC GUI that used USB HID to transfer files and flash directly from a RAM buffer, but the KL25 is pretty limited on RAM. Didn't really get too far with it. I really wanted the ability to command line call the flash from TunerPro for the data only so you could do fast data flashes while on the Dyno without the download step. It would definitely work using existing HW design I just got a new job and slammed with work lol.

If I gave someone the Gerbers would they order some and solder them up for people? Other than that it is programming the boards and doing a test flash and read to make sure it is functional.

Thoughts?

Welcome back tap! I have been working on the software side and have one of the boards that NZ_M3 made. His board seems to work, I just don't have the time to get the firmware piece to the same level that you developed it to.

Would it be possible to use your firmware with his board?

Hi Tap!!

Good to hear from you!
Do you mind sending me the files so I can be the repository for carrying this project onwards for everyone!

For now if we have your permission to use the existing firmware then it’ll definitely push this project further faster

Cheers

Wow just read through! Sorry I wasn't around to send you the Gerbers and save you that time!

If I was moving this forward, I would feel different but as it is I don't have the bandwidth so I am totally fine NZ_M3 if you want to distribute my original binary!

Thank you all!!

I'll send you an email with Gerbers and we can talk about open sourcing the software so other folks can pick up where I was at rather than start over.

Thanks!

Still an invaluable piece of hardware to this day

I will definitely do that for you, as far as getting the parts soldered up correctly. Software I couldn't help there.

I'm also in need of a BDM tool very badly. I flash alot of mss52/4 and once in a while one has a bad flash and I cannot recover it everytime, even when shorting pins 37 on each eprom to ground.
