Post M Mechanic / Shop in OC?

I recently moved to Huntington Beach, CA.

Can anyone refer me to a respectable M mechanic (E46 knowledge) in the HB / OC area?

I usually take mine to bullet performance in costa mesa for jobs that are beyond my expertise. I have heard good things about lang racing too.

Man, youíre surrounded by a whole bunch of shops.

First on the docket is a M3 Forum Member, and that is Kaiv. He has done everything from E36 M3 S54 swaps, SMG to manual conversions, and his latest was an S62 V8 swap into an E39 wagon. Thing is, heís in San Diego, but it is worth the drive. A super cool dude.

Here is the list of very good E46M mechanic near you...

2) EAS/European Auto Service in Anaheim. They have an in house dyno.
3) Lang Racing Development in Lake Forest. He fabs, sells a S54 stroker crank (or engine), etc.
4) Auto Talent in Gardena. Last time I was there, there were a Novitec Ferrari, a Lamborghini Diablo, other very eye catching stuff.
5) Shane @ Aliso Viejo Auto Service - He has done ALL the general maintenance work on my E46M. Very good dude.

If you need a killer alignment, see West End Alignment in Gardena. If you tell him you want an aggressive Auto-x alignment + corner weighting, be prepared man for a different driving experience. That dude is amazing; heís busy so call ahead first.

I'm in Long Beach and I've also been looking for a good shop to fix up my m3 I bought a few months ago. I have to admit I'm surprised you bring your m3 to Aliso Viejo, I've been indoctrinated to think that only specialty shops can work on our cars. Do you mind sharing what kind of jobs you've had Shane do?

I'm looking for someone with reasonable rates for replacing most of the bushings on my car. Diff, fcab, motor and trans mounts etc.

No problem on info sharing. This has nothing to do with E46Ms and since you just moved to your new home, let’s face it, a dude’s got to eat so here is a short list of most excellent pizza places- hah!

1) Doria Haus of Pizza in Costa Mesa - Their “house” or combo pizza with extra sausage is killer.
2) Marri’s in Anaheim - They’re on Katella heading west, all the way past the most miserable place on earth (Disneyland). Same, house pizza, x-sausage (I think it’s called the Matterhorn...). Seems like the pizza is 2 inches high with all the toppings (an exaggeration, but you get the drift, hah)
3) New York’s Best Pizza in Aliso Viejo/Mission Viejo - His BBQ chicken (especially that) and vegetarian (the one using traditional tomato paste, not white sauce) are the fu%%in bomb. Sunil, the Owner, a cool dude; interesting story - he’s Indian, but moved to the US from Northern Europe. Anyways, once you chop into that BBQ chicken pizza, you can’t stop eating - seriously, hah.
4) Nothing to do with pizza bit if you just want to get a beer in a dive, and look at some hot-a## half naked waitresses, go to the Pump Room in the City of Orange. When you sit at the bar, there are mirrors behind the bar on the floor, angled up, so you can look at some a## when you drink, haaah.
5) Since we’re on he topic of a##, Fritz’s on Katella, East side of I5 fwy. So after you gorge at Marri’s, end it there with a lap dance.

I would have also given kaiv a shoutout if it wasnt for the "HB/OC area" requirement! PS can you do my rod bearings soon?

For starters, Shane @ Aliso is a through-and-through car dude. He has owned two killer E36 M3s. He is a former BMW Dealer mechanic also. In addition, heís a purveyor of all things fast, which brings me to his supercharged AP1 S2000, which is wicked fast.

Shane has worked on my E46M for about 10 yrs or so. He has fixed near everything thatís gone haywire on my sled just about. For things outside of valve adjustments and rod bearings, he has done it. His level of OCD-ness is what I like about him. Just give him a call; he is a good dude.

Kaiv, another OCD mechanic, has worked on my car also. My VANOS overhaul, and valve timing adjustments were performed at his shop in SD. In a word, excellent.

The good sir I purchased my E46 from (@twentyseven) recommended you aswell. Definitely might have to plan a weekend trip down to SD when it's time for some vanos or 6MT.

Also, Monkey, I'm reading some really bad Yelp reviews on Lang....did it go downhill or ownership change?
