I had a ticket prior to calling for a quote. During my the last 3 years I had quite a large accident that was deemed my fault (it wasn't, but whatever) and my policy was renewed.

As stated above, agreed value. Mine is at 9K (conservative but she is old) and I pay 75 a year. Then again I have 2 others cars on my policy that are valued at considerably more.

"Do any of you have firsthand experience with this?"... with speeding tickets: yes.
" I’m debating whether it’s worth it to get a lawyer and try to get this thrown out "
A lawyer is no guarantee, but worth a try and can help.
Also: check that the ticket is properly written w/ no mistakes etc.

News to me: strange Hagerty has this approach, when you weren't even driving your Haggerty insured vehicle, but they insure the driver not the car (always thought it was the other way around with vintage vehicles)
..but just like any insurance company, they insure themselves as well.
